We are given a view inside the telescope itself. Like so many of our most awesome feats of engineering it turns out it's a fickle and messy machine that is often held together by rubber bands and tape. The film looks at a man who seems happy to tinker with an appliance rather than use it, who opens the stars to others, and who is completely adorable.
