This documentary short is by first time film maker Alice Taylor (age 17), a student of the Abingdon Film Unit at Abingdon School, in the UK. 'Not Quite There' explores the challenges of depression from the point of view of a sufferer. Using unguarded, matter of fact, first person narrative, it touches on experiences of dissociation, social stigma and the difficulties of talking about the issue, through to final recovery. Visually arresting through the use of poetic and distorted imagery, this short film is a moving account of the hidden suffering experienced by people the world over.
