Roy and Jared possess an ability to share each other's dream state. While inside the dream world, Roy and Jared combat on another in a battle of wits. Whoever possesses the most mental discipline, strength and focus is able to overpower the other regardless of their strengths in the real world. To this end, Jared has been the dominant factor for perhaps centuries. with unlimited control over the stock markets, world super powers and their governments, Jared decides he'll enter the dreams of every living man, woman and child, simultaneously and murder them. Jared's view is 'when the people awake they'll have a new found appreciation for life'. Roy must out think Jared and stop him from unleashing his plan.
