The player starts as a recruit of ARKS, a task force part of Oracle, an intergalactic fleet. This fleet contains many ships as large as entire cities to house the four races: Humans, Newmans, Cast, and Deumans. A character is created by choosing from nine classes: Hunter, Ranger, Force, Braver, Bouncer, Summoner, Fighter, Gunner, and Techter. There are also eighteen weapon types.
