Recording of the theatrical play Hygiene, performed in the streets and houses of the working class neighborhood of Maria Zélia, in São Paulo, by the Grupo XIX de Teatro. The play focuses on the process of class sanitation of the city of Rio de Janeiro by the late 19th Century, which resulted in massive unemployment and the destruction of working class homes, ultimately leading to the beginning of the slums (favelas).
