Rose is faced with an emotional crisis brought in some part due to her engagement at work. Her crisis affects her ability to be rational in that she has started to confuse between those who are dead in her life from those still living. The day before her scheduled surgery , Rose escapes the hospital in an unconscious attempt to prevent the removal of a brain tumor which she dreads would lead to the loss in her mind of her loved ones.
