An impressionistic portrait of a person's life embodied through her voice, anchored to place yet fluid in relation to time and history. The film uses a palette of images taken from nature to express the idyllic thoughts and musings of a Brooklyn resident whose memories jump seamlessly between eras. Her words take on universal meaning as her voice reaches back in human time to primordial beginnings, weaves through centuries of Utopian cooperation and destructive war, and comes back to the present moment, wherein she greets passers-by and extols the virtues of her neighborhood. The film invites us to contemplate our own histories and sense of place in relation to the earth's myriad patterns of growth, life, color and rebirth.
