A night doorman, Mike, holds watch in the lobby of a luxury apartment building during a harsh Manhattan winter and begins receiving anonymous packages in the mail that contain nothing but packing peanuts. As a result of his exclusion from the city and the reccurring packages, Mike slowly starts losing his ability to comprehend the world around him, hearing unintelligible words and feeling like his brain's been infected by something inexplicable.
