During a period of depression following the death of his wife, a writer wakes up one morning to find a Pain Monster waiting to eat him, slowly, one piece at a time. After making terms with the reality of his situation, the writer realizes that he may be uniquely equipped to deal with this Pain Monster and escape with his life.
