Sudden Flashes of Light is an action film on the piano that features Serhiy Salov's virtuous performance and interpretations of Fetes from Nocturnes by Claude Debussy. The film focuses on the mechanical relationship between Salov and the piano, evoking an emotional state in the performance and suggesting an atmosphere akin to the impressionist movement. Sudden Flashes of Light was shot and recorded live at Salle Claude Champagne of University of Montreal. Carefully crafted, the montage favored both picture and sound without altering or overdubbing the performance. This is the first artistic collaboration between Serhiy Salov and Santiago RuizTorres.
