A powerful virus has broken out across Pakistan. Identified as a pathogen that spreads through contact with bodily fluids, it causes uncontrollable outbursts of violence. The only hope for those infected is a drug called Sedare. The drug is so ubiquitous that in the market, it is simply known as the patch. But the patch is not a cure. It merely calms the most overt symptoms of the virus for 6 to 8 hours. Our story starts with Shehzad Ameen, a reporter documenting the spread of the virus. He is on the trail of a man called Imtiaz Wasti, a brilliant pharmaceutical scientist who initially developed the patch. After many months, Shehzad has managed to track down Imtiaz, hoping to get some answers.
